What the community is saying.
"Local school volunteer, Clifton LeJeune, was honored by the Associated Professional Educators of Louisiana (A+PEL) at the Governor’s Mansion in Baton Rouge. Mr. LeJeune was honored for his volunteer work at Northside Junior High, recently renamed James Ward Elementary.Throughout the past school year, Clifton LeJeune diligently donated his time, gifts and talents, not only to this school, but also other area schools.
To name a few of his contributions, he has been a motivational speaker at LEAP & IOWA Test rallies, has given the Keynote Address twice a year at the D.A.R.E. graduation ceremony for the last eight years, has hosted an awards assembly each six weeks at Jennings Elementary, and each week, he facilitates a Bible study at Welsh High School (CIA - "Christians In Action). At the regional and state levels, he’s delivered the keynote address at the State & Regional FCCLA rallies. One highlight was when he served as host commentator for the 6th grade Mini Olympics. He also chaperoned numerous field trips and local events. He not only participates, but he often plans the activities.
Clifton LeJeune clearly shows his appreciation of teachers each year when he plans a spectacular evening at his church called ‘The Annual Edge-You-Cater Appreciation Service’ where he insists that teachers be treated as queens and kings. He acknowledges the obstacles, heartaches, trials, and tribulations that teachers must face on a daily basis, and he credits them with making a difference in the lives of students. After leaving the service, teachers return to school with renewed energy, hope, and dreams."
