LITERSHIP
I often ask people, ‘What is a leader?’ Their reply generally goes something like this: “Leadership is influence,” or “Leadership is the ability to create followers.” While both of these responses are probably true and accurate in their own right, I propose a different response . . . when someone asks me, “Clifton, what is a leader?” I often reply,” A liter is just a little more than a quart.” Smile!
A quart is a commonly used standard unit of measure. A ‘liter’ therefore, is just a little more that what is commonly accepted as standard or normal. At JWC, we are in the habit of creating ‘Liters’; and, it is with this in mind that ever since 2000 we have been conducting ‘Litership Training’ at 8:45 each Sunday morning. I know you’re thinking, ‘Wow, that’s early. Service doesn’t begin till 10:30′. You are correct, but remember, a little more is required of our ‘Liters’ than is expected of others.
‘Litership’ Training is a fast track to spiritual maturity. During these early morning sessions you will receive valuable training in areas which will assist you in being successful in your walk with God as well as your career, family, or other vocation. I invite you to join me with dozens of others each Sunday morning at 8:45 as we develop the next generation of ‘Liters’.
